Walter Allen "Wally" Brodock Jr.

The Legion Riders of Post 305 are a close knit group.  Many have been around for a while and some have only recently joined…but we all find inspiration from our brother Wally.  It didn’t matter if you knew him for five minutes or five decades, he was a genuine friend and a mentor.  Wally was a proud Veteran who served in the US Navy, on the USS Saratoga in the Vietnam War era.  After the service, he worked as a truck driver.  During his off time, “Papa” would be found with his wife Terri and their grandchildren watching them play sports.  His other passion was riding motorcycles–with Terri at his back and his Legion Brothers at his side.  His love for riding is an inspiration–even for new riders at the 305 who didn’t know him personally but can certainly relate to his passion for riding.  Wally always had a story or a bit of knowledge for anyone he talked to. Through his deeds, Wally made a difference, conducted himself with honesty and integrity and persevered…he lived the rider’s creed.  Every year, riders throughout Western Michigan set aside a day to ride and raise a glass in honor of our mentor and good friend, Wally.
